| Filters are designed
by their manufacturers to transmit and / or absorb different
wavelengths of light. In other words, they change the spectral
properties of optical radiation. They therefore allow scientific
experiments and industrial applications where that change
is necessary..
Rising
EO supply colored glass material by China to Schott, Hoya,
and other manufacturers. They include short pass, long pass,
band pass, ultraviolet, infrared, heat absorbing, and color
temperature conversion filters. Just point and click on
the name above to view information on that manufacturers
filters.
Absorption, and particularly wavelength selective
absorption is an important factor in the function of the
filters. The two most common absorbers are thin metallic
films which are particularly insensitive to wavelength for
absorption, and colored glasses which absorb wavelengths
varied by as much as several orders of magnitudes in only
tens of nanometers. Interference filters are multilayer
dielectric thin film devices.
Metallic films, colored glasses and thin dielectric
films filter are all available from Rising EO.

The general tolerance specifications above
provide a guideline regarding manufacturing capabilities
for optics ranging in size from 3-100mm. The manufacturing
limits are not absolute; tighter tolerances may be possible.
Part specific tolerances may vary depending on component
size, shape, and/or material.
